"Religion and Asia" Symposium Held

Religion is gradually becoming a center point of world issues. The Public Relations Division invited Richard Gombrich of Oxford University (U.K.) to participate in discussions on "Religious Issues in Asia Today" and "Religion in Modern Japanese Society" during the symposium "Religion and Asia."

Conferences of Free Peoples

This conference aims to provide an opportunity for "free" people, unfettered by the existing sense of value and organizations, to gather and create original, groundbreaking ideas in lively discussions. The Public Relations Division holds Conferences of Free Peoples to encourage discussion among unaffiliated people.

In fiscal 1999-2000, people involved in clinical treatment and medical science gathered for a discussion on "Medicine of the 21st Century," which was sponsored by the 21st Century Medical Tasks Committee.

Conference on "Living Stormy Lives"

This conference opened discussion on turbulent incidents and chaotic people throughout history by inviting speakers who have lived eventful lives to tell their life experiences and share their way of thinking.

Although not everyone experiences an unstable life, we believe the participants' experiences and ways of thinking can help support the future of many other people.
