What is the Small Pelagic Fish?

= A group of fish that lives in the surface in oceans, and has shoaling nature, relatively small body size, and relatively short life span.

 

Examples:

Clupeoid species:

Sardines and Herrings (family Clupeidae)

Anchovies (family Engraulididae)

Other taxonomic groups:

Mackerels (family Scombridae)

Horse mackerels (family Carangidae)

Capelins (family Osmeridae)

Body size: 10-40cm
