Carl M. Adema is the Program Manager of the Navy's Shipboard Environmental Protection RDT&E program at the Naval Sea Systems Command. In his present position, he directs the research and development of shipboard waste treatment technology so that the U.S. Navy will have an environmentally sound ship in the 21st Century. He has 27years of experience in conducting and managing environmental research and development efforts. He has designed and developed shipboard systems and procedures for the treatment of shipboard wastes. He holds two patents and has written several paperes on shipboard waste management and treatment. Mr. Adema received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Kettering Universty (previously General Motors Institute) and his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University.

 

Anthony T. Rodriguez is the Deputy Program Manager of the Navy's Shipboard Environmental Research and Development Program at the Naval Sea Systems Command. In this position, he assists in the direction and execution of the research and development of shipboard waste treatment techaologies aimed at attaining an environmentally sound ship of the 21st Century. Mr. Rodriguez has 16years of experience leading and executing shipboard environmental research and development efforts for the development of shipboard liquid and solid waste treatment systems, hazardous material management, and ozone depleting substance reduction. He has authored numerous papers on the development of naval waste treatment techaologies. Mr. Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering. specializing in Environmental Engineering from the Universty of Central Fl orida.

 

Christopher H. Crane has over 20 years of experience in environmental and health programs. He is currently a Senior Scientist at Geo-Centers, Inc., where he has provided technical, programmatic, and documentation support for Navy headquarters shipboard environmental RDT&E programs since 1989. Previous experience encompasses ten years of techaical and management support for headquarters-level energy, environmental, health, and defense programs at the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Federal Emergensy Management Agensy, Defense Nuclear Agensy, and Navy. He also worked for one year in the industrial engineering department of a chemical products company, focusing on waste management and mass balance projects. He holds a B. Sc. Honors in Chemistry and Business Studies from the University of Salford (previously Salford Royal College ofAdvanced Technology) in England and was a volunteer fire and rescue technician and officer for eleven years.
