1.1 Organisation of the Company
Rolls-Royce focuses its activities on the following market areas: civil, defence, marine and energy, alongside which is a financial function supporting the group's activities. The organisational structure of the group is depicted below.
Since acquiring Vickers, Rolls-Royce has set about integrating the respective marine businesses. Whilst most of Vickers Ulstein Marine Systems (VUMS) has been brought into the Marine market area, Bergen Diesel has been placed into the Energy market area, in recognition of the land based as well as marine applications of its medium speed diesel engines.
