2.4 Supply Capacity
In 1987 MAN B&W closed its two-stroke engine factory in Copenhagen (Christianshavn) and concentrated production at its plant in Frederikshavn. A new factory was established in Copenhagen (Teglholmen) for the production of key components for its licencees and spare parts such as fuel injection pumps, fuel valves, high pressure pipes, pistons, cylinder covers and exhaust valve spindles and bottom pieces for two-stroke Diesel engines. It is also engaged in two-stroke engine development, working closely with licensees when carrying out testing of engines. The Copenhagen works covers 14,000 sq.m. on a 34,700 sq.m. site.
The company's main activities in Copenhagen are the development, design, licensing and after sales service of two-stroke diesel engines. The company moved into its new headquarters in Denmark in September 1994. The building is close to its production facilities for components and spare parts and its Research Centre.
