1. OUTLINE OF COMPANY

 

1.1 Organisation of the Company

MAN B&W Diesel Group is a member of the MAN Group, a major European supplier of industrial equipment. The company specialises in the manufacture of large diesel engines, produced at its own plant and by licencees. MAN B&W Diesel Group comprises MAN B&W Diesel AG, based at Augsburg, Germany, MAN B&W Diesel A/S, in Copenhagen, Denmark, MAN B&W Diesel (Singapore) and Intercal Warmetechnik, which makes oil and gas burners. The MAN Group also has an associated subsidiary, S.E.M.T. Pielstick in St. Denis, France, which is a 67/33 joint venture with MTU.

MAN B&W Diesel A/S in Denmark has its headquarters in Copenhagen, with production units at Frederikshavn and Holeby. The company employs a total of around 2,100 people at these three locations. The Copenhagen headquarters is responsible for the development and sales of two-stroke diesel engines, the production of components and spare parts and for servicing. The factory at Frederikshavn, known as Alpha Diesel, makes four-stroke engines in the low output range, whilst the factory at Holeby specialises in the production of four-stroke Gensets.
