14. This little boy has numerous pale patches scattered over the buttocks and trunk and there were many more on the front of the body and limbs. Note that in leprosy patches or lesions, normal colouring (pigment) is reduced, but not completely lost. Loss of pigment (de-pigmentation) occurs in vitiligo (see picture11) and some other conditions. The total of lesions shown here is dearly higher than 5 and some peripheral nerves were affected.
