SHUREI 5,376-dwt Ro / Ro Ship

Onomichi Dockyard Co., Ltd. delivered SHUREI, a high speed roll-on / roll-off cargo ship in regular service between Fukuoka and Okinawa built by Saiki Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. to Ryukyu Kaiun Co., Ltd. on January 21, 2000.

A very fine hull form offers extremely low wave-making and resistance, thus enable it to ride out rough waters on the route between Okinawa and Mainland Japan, where the vessel is exposed to strong winds and high waves during winter and typhoon seasons. With single propeller powered by medium speed diesel engine, max. 23,100 PS, trial speed of 25.213 knots was achieved during sea trial.

Various kind of cargoes, trailer chassis, trucks, containers and vehicles can be loaded smoothly onto each of the four decks, which have no pillars in general, through bow and stern ramps.

In addition, the vessel is equipped with a 50-ton lift to the lowest cargo deck in order to handle containers.

A pair of fin stabilizer and bow and stern thrusters allow for safe voyage and good maneuverability of the vessel.
