GRAND CHOICE 4,373-unit Car Carrier
The 4,373-unit car carrier GRAND CHOICE was completed in February 1999 at Kanasashi Co., Ltd. to the order of Pioneer Shipping Navigation Inc. of Panama.
The vessel has twelve (12) car decks including two (2) liftable decks for stowing large-sized vehicles such as dump trucks etc. It is designed to carry not only cars and RVs, but also various types of truck and dump truck.
The vessel is equipped with a stern ramp on starboard side and two center ramps on both sides. The stern ramp is strong enough for loading large-size vehicle for a total weight of 981 kN (100 t).
An electric motor-driven bow thruster with a thrust of 171 kN (17.5 t) is fitted for easy berthing.
To comply with NK M0 classification standards, a 24-hour unattended machinery space system is provided.
