CAPE FLORA for Laurel Shipping Corporation was delivered on April 21,2000, at Nagasaki Ship and & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy industries, Ltd. (MHI).

The vessel is a 164,361-dwt ore carrier with modern energy saving facilities, such as a slower revolution propeller with a large diameter, Mitsubishi Reaction Fin, etc. The vessel is intended to transport "sintered ore" as well as iron ore. For loading of "sintered ore" , one set of sliding chute and chute hatch is installed in each cargo hold between the main hatch covers.

In order to improve fuel oil consumption, a Mitsubishi-UE 6UEC75LS II engine with a long stroke type cylinder and an exhaust gas economizer are adopted.
