PINE HURST 32,000-dwt Log / Bulk Carrier
The Hakodate Dock Co., Ltd. has delivered the sixth ship of the 32,000-dwt log / bulk carrier series, PINE HURST to Diamond Camellia S.A. (Panama) in September 1999.
The 32,000-dwt log / bulk carrier has been developed, aiming at an intermediate size between the so called handy-size and handy-max size, with feature of log fittings.
The ship was specially designed with considerable shallow draft in comparison with other ships with similar cargo loading capacities and also, the ship maintains sufficient stable condition without any ballast water in tanks during full loading of logs.
Based on this design, the ship is able to make a wide selection of ports of call, and opportunities for gaining economical benefits from ship's operation can be in-creased.
Further, Nos.2, 3 & 4 cargo holds are provided with double hull structure and Nos.1 & 5 cargo holds have top-side tanks and lower hopper tanks, with wide hatch covers of 20.0 m x 19.6 m, except No.1 hatch, for facilitating cargo loading and unloading work.
In the 32,000-dwt log / bulk carrier series, the ship was upgraded in de-sign, such as power-up of main engine, increase of log loading capacity on deck, etc. with relative equipments.
