The 29,482-dwt open hatch bulk carrier SOUTHERN SPIRIT was built at Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd., and delivered to Picer Marine S.A.in November 1998.
Features
1. The vessel has five (5) box-shape holds with doublehull constructions.
2. Twin deck is located in only No.5 cargo hold.
3. The hatch cover are of end folding type and operated by hydraulic cylinder. The hatch cover of No.1 cargo hold is 15.2 m long and 16.9 m wide, Nos.2, 3 and 4 cargo holds are 20.8 m long and 22.8 m wide, and No.5 cargo hold is 16.0 m long and 22.8 m wide.
The vessel has four (4) sets of 30 long-tons x 24 m radius electro-hydraulic deck cranes.
4. The vessel can carry packaged lumber in cargo holds and on hatch cover , and eye plates are equipped in holds and upper deck hatch sides for lashing packaged lumber.
5. Each hold has a mechanical ventilation and dehumidifier.
