PACIFIC HORIZON 44,370-dwt Chemical Tanker
The 44,370-dwt chemical carrier PACIFIC HORIZON was built at the Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd.and delivered in June 1999 to Pan Pacific Chemical Lines S.A.
The vessel was designed and built to carry chemicals (IMO type II and III). The cargo tank was designed to load heavy cargoes of 1.26 t / m3 in specific gravity, consisting of 110 cargo tanks and 2 slop tanks, which are protected with double side hull and double bottom.
All cargo tanks and slop tanks are coated by inorganic zinc paint, and equipped with a hydraulic motor driven submerged type cargo pump.
Structures protruding into the tanks are minimized by using the on-deck girder system for the upper deck and vertical corrugated type bulkheads with lower stool.
Cargo handling is simplified by a 10 metric-ton hydraulic-operated deck crane for hose handling, arranged amidship on the upper deck.
