The 4,945-gt cargo passenger car ferry QUEEN CORAL 8 was completed by Kanda Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and delivered to Marix Line K.K. in September 1999. The vessel is now serving the route between Kagoshima and Naha.
During design and construction of the vessel, particular attention w s paid to ensuring stability, excellent propulsive performance and maneuverability for safe operation.
The vessel is equipped with ramp doors t both sides of the stern to allow vehicles to roll on and off through vehicle decks. An electronic motor driven bow thruster is provided for easy berthing.
Hull vibrations re further reduced by using highly skewed propellers and rolling is prevented with fin stabilizers.
The QUEEN CORAL 8 is equipped with air conditioning, life saving, fire fighting, navigation, dining, amusement and sanitation equipment and facilities.
