Report on ISME TOKYO 2000 (Sixth International Symposium on Marine Engineering, TOKYO 2000)
1. Introduction
Sixth International Symposium on Marine Engineering (to be abbreviated as ISME TOKYO 2000) has been held from 23rd through 27th October, 2000, at Nippon Toshi Center kaikan, Tokyo.
The theme is "Expectations for the Emergence and Development of New Technologies in Marine Engineering", of which the summary is hereunder introduced.
2. Technical Papers
(1) Total papers proposed (number of abstracts): 23 countries, 180 papers.
(2) Total papers selected (number of full papers): 23 countries, 175 papers.
(3) Details: Japan, 48 organizations, 116 papers.
Overseas: 22 countries, 59 papers.
3. Registered participants
(1) Overseas participants: 22 countries, 75 persons.
(2) Domestic participants: 366 persons (Including foreigners living in Japan.)
Total: 441 persons. (Besides about 20 accompanying wives.)
4. Participants to exhibitions
(1) Reception party: About 280 persons.
(2) Banquet: About 350 persons.
(3) Technical visits: Total 41 persons in 2 places (T-1 and T-2).
(4) Ladies programmes: 55 persons in 2 places.
