Greeting
The Marine Engineering Society in Japan sponsors this Technical Exhibition, as one of the main events associated with the Sixth International Symposium on Marine Engineering (ISME TOKYO 2000) with the main theme "Expectation for the Emergence and Development of New Technologies in Marine Engineering".
New technologies with triple high and double low requirements, that is, high quality, high reliability, high safety, low emission (pollution) and low cost are required in many systems and equipment including the environmental problems.
In the former three items the higher is the better and in the latter two items the lower is the better, but the realization of the above items in parallel is difficult.
In order to cope with these requirements, we invited industries both home and abroad, societies and universities to exhibit state-of-the-art technical information on their wide range advanced and latest technologies and activities in marine engineering.
We hope that this Exhibition can help to exchange information and also to promote international friendship among the participants.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of those who cooperated us to this Exhibition, and also I would like to welcome all of those who are involved in shipping, shipbuilding and marine engineering field to visit this Exhibition.
