The Marine Engineering Society in Japan has successfully hosted five ISME during 1973 to 1995.
Each symposium attracted many attendants from around the globe and has received high acclaim for the active technical communication among the participants.
Environmental Protection is a today's buzzword.
In the marine engineering and related machinery systems, pollution prevention systems, energy supply systems and ship operation systems are attracting attention.
The Marine Engineering Society in Japan has proudly selected this year's theme as "Expectation for the Emergence and Development of New Technologies in Marine Engineering".
ISME TOKYO 2000, the sixth International Symposium on Marine Engineering with annexed exhibition, will be held from 23rd October through 27th October 2000 at the Nippon Toshi Center Kaikan.
The symposium is supported by the Ministry of Transport and sponsored by the Nippon Foundation.
