4. DESIGN AND PRODUCTION OF COATED CYLINDER LINERS FOR FULL-SCALE TESTS
4.1 Test Engines
We have selected 3 engines, whose specifications are shown in Table 4.
4.2 Design
The principal dimensions of coated cylinder liners are coated area and thickness. For the tests, we designed them to a little wider extent than necessary ones we estimate. The design is shown on Fig. 9, and the piston rings for coated liners are shown on Fig. 10.
4.3 Production
Cylinder liner for MTE40 was coated in Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and others were coated in one of our sub-suppliers of coating materials.
4.4 Produced Coated Liners for Full-scale Tests
Coated cylinder liners were produced by coating layer NHM-1 and CMZ15, as shown in Table 5. The produced liner for S70MC is shown on Fig. 11, and installed piston ring on S70MC is shown on Fig. 12.
