Also in Fig.9 and Fig.10, experimental results with a grid still show the same tendency. Since total pressure distributions at the inlet of intake duct have a strong influence on the pressure loss, the boundary layer profile along the actual ship bottom is to be needed. The effect of operation, on the other hand, is consistent and at the single-intake operation shows lower pressure losses based on both experimental and computational results.
