5. CONCLUSIONS
The research reported here clarified the following:
(1) Heat flux on combustion chamber walls can be predicted using numerical analysis of flow and combustion in the cylinders of slow speed 2-stroke diesel engines
(2) It was found that the time differentiation value of estimated heat flux for the cylinder cover was in good agreement with measured wall temperature, with the result that wall temperature can now be predicted.
(3) Estimation of heat flux on the piston remains insufficient, and efforts should be made to improve the prediction accuracy of flame behavior.
