ISO 8468 Ship's bridge layout and associated equipment - Requirements and guidelines 2nd edition, November 1990.
This standard is confirmed by the 5 years systematic review in 2000.
ISO 8468 is approved as European Standard in 1994 and published as EN ISO 8468.

ISO/WI 14612 is included in the list of standards of common interest for ISO/TC8 and IMO, with IMO-Link - NR15 in Annex A of TC8 doc. N1000.
This standard is complementary to and compatible to ISO 8468, the general standards for Ships bridge layout and equipment. The compatibility between the two standards is achieved by using identical structure, identical headlines and alignment of terms and definitions.
The 1st CD was circulated for comments in January 1999.
The 2nd CD were comments to the 1st CD is taken into consideration, was circulated in February 2000.
11 P-members participated in the 2nd CD-voting. 10 Voted AGREE (4 with comments) and one voted DISAGREE with comments. Reason for the disagreement was the phrase "periodic one-person operation". It was proposed to replace it with the phrase "integrating bridge functions". The chairman, secretary and project leader decided to bring this modification into the title and text of the document.
