Welcome Inn Reservation Assistance
If you are an overseas traveler planning a trip to Japan, the Welcome Inn Reservation Assistance service is here to help you find and book economical accommodations at participating inns throughout the country. This free service was started in 1991 with the aim of facilitating travel for international tourists. The service is provided by the International Tourism Center of Japan (ITCJ), and is run by the Welcome Inn Reservation Center (WIRC).
WIRC maintains a list of participating establishments, called Welcome Inns, that meet the following two criteria (among others):
･ They welcome foreign guests.
･ Their daily rate does not exceed 8,000 yen per single or 13,000 yen per double room.
In addition to providing this listing, WIRC is also ready to help you book your reservations. But please note that booking assistance is intended only for travelers who do not speak Japanese. Those who are fluent in Japanese are encouraged to contact these establishments directly.
Welcome Inn Reservation Assistance is a non-profit initiative supported by the Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) and supervised by the government. Thanks to generous grants from the Nippon Foundation (日本財団) and the Tetsudo Kosaikai Foundation (財団法人 鉄道弘済会), we are able to offer this service at no charge to guests or to the Welcome Inns themselves.

2) The service provided by WIRC is concluded upon completion of check-in.
3) WIRC accepts no responsibility for settlement of any disputes related to a guest's stay at a Welcome Inn, except in cases involving failure to abide by terms of reservation agreements arranged through this service.
4) WIRC provides reservations assistance only. We are not equipped to offer other kinds of information about travel in Japan.

1. Over the Internet
You can book a room at Welcome Inns from our website http://www.itcj.or.jp using one of the following methods.
1) Online Booking (through the Japan National Tourist Orgn's Booking System)
Click on the "Online Booking" button to go to the inn's page at the Japan National Tourist Organization's (JNTO) Japan Travel Updates (JTU) website (http://www.jnto.go.jp). Please follow the instruction on the site. An advantage of this method is that you can get your confirmation immediately. Booking itself is handled by JTU through pre-arrangement with the respective inns. (The Online Booking" button appears only for those inns that support this feature.)
