Mr. Shigehara, the President of the Guinrei-Kai surprised me by disclosing his observation at a speech training class some fifteen years ago saying that his voice sounded heavy and hoarse as it was uttered in the deeper part of the throat while my voice from the upper part of the throat sounded very light and clear. Mr. Shigehara's observation is right and utterance should be made at the upper part of the throat as possible; I would like to emphasize that point through my experience.
The practice method is as follows: take a good posture, with your back straightened up and face looking straight front, then vocalize, using abdominal pressure to push inhaled air toward the upper part of the esophagus and the rear palate as if hitting the air towards it.
