Next, the back half of the tongue touches the back wall of the throat and moves actively as if rolling itself downward. Immediately after air is sent into the hypopharynx by these actions, it enters the esophagus. The series of motions occurs quickly.

 

This is called the injection method.

A: The lips are closed and the dorsum of the tongue rises to send air backward. The nasopharynx is obstructed.

B: The back half of the tongue touches the back wall of the throat, then piston-like motions begin.

C: The back part of the tongue moves as if rolling itself downward to send air into the hypopharynx.

 

(3) How to expel air

 

After air in the hypopharynx enters the esophagus, strain the abdominal muscles and increase the pressure within the lower part of the abdomen to raise the diaphragm. At the beginning, put your hands on your abdomen to help raise it.
