4 ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR 2000
Relevant sections of the Constitution are:
ARTICLE IV: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Section 1 Composition
1.1 The affairs of the AMETIAP shall be managed by the Executive Committee which shall consist of a Chair, Vice Chair and three (3) other Members.
1.2 Membership of the Executive Committee shall be subject to election at intervals of not more than three (3) years.
1.3 The Executive Committee shall have the power to co-opt up to two additional members to serve on the Executive Committee for a period of not more than one (1) year.
1.4 The Executive Committee shall appoint a Secretary and a Treasurer from its membership.
Section 2 Selection
2.1 The Chair, Vice Chair and other members of the Executive Committee shall be elected from the current list of Members and by the Members at the Annual General Meeting.
The existing members of the Executive Committee were elected at AGM1 in Hong Kong in 1996:
Chair Singapore Polytechnic
Vice Chair Shanghai Maritime University
Secretary Australian Maritime College
Treasurer The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Member Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine
Membership of the Executive Committee is subject to election at AGM4.
