EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE'S REPORT: 2000 GOALS AND ACTIVITIES
The principal goals and activities of AMETIAP in 2000 will bring greater benefit to members and strengthen AMETIAP through increased membership and other resources.
Activities which will benefit the development of maritime education and training in the Asia Pacific Region through AMETIAP:
・building capacity in institutions by recommending developments and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and skills, including the placement of staff in more developed institutions;
・organising and conducting conferences, seminars, workshops and other appropriate meetings;
・surveying Members' needs and recommending actions to address those needs;
・reviewing and rewriting Model Courses, as requested by IMO;
・accrediting courses developed in the Asia Pacific Region;
・improving the delivery of maritime education and training utilising state-of-the-art technology and methodology;
・compiling lists of experts from Member Institutions willing to supply consultancy services and assisting the indentification of experts for specific tasks for IMO and other international agencies;
・liaising with IMO and other international agencies;
・initiating other activities as appropriate.
