日本音楽コンクール入賞後、ローゼンシュトック指揮の新響(現在のN響)の定期公演の独奏者としてデビュー。1994年から1956年まで、NHK交響楽団のコンサートマスターとして活躍する一方、独奏者としてシューマン、バルトーク、エルガーなどの協奏曲を日本初演。また、1953年、プロムジカ弦楽四重奏団の全曲連続演奏をはじめ、多彩な室内楽活動を行い、我が国の室内楽の発展に大きく貢献している。
桐朋学園大助教授を経て、1962年より京都市立芸大教授、1988年より音楽学部長を勤め、現在京都市立芸大名誉教授。また、1981年より神戸室内合奏団音楽監督を勤める。現在、日本弦楽指導者協会会長をはじめ各種団体役員を勤める。芸術選奨文部大臣賞、神戸市文化賞などを受賞。1992年「京都市文化功労者」の称号を授与され、1995年京都コンサートホール館長に就任、現在に至る。1998年勲三等旭日中綬賞を受章する。
Having been a prizewinner at the Music Competition of Japan, Prof. Ryutaro IWABUCHI made his debut as a soloist for the subscription concerts of the New Symphony Orchestra (later renamed NHK Symphony Orchestra) under Josef Rosenstock. From 1949 to 1956, whilst serving as the concertmaster for the NHK S.O., he gave Japan premieres of several violin concertos Including those of Schumann, Bartok and Elgar. As a founding member of the Pro Musica String Quartet in 1953, he gave top-class performances of numerous complete String Quartet series, including those of Beethoven and Bartok.
After having served as Assistant Professor at Toho Gakuen University, Prof. Ryutaro IWABUCHI became Professor in 1962 and Dean of the Music Faculty of Kyoto City University of Arts and Music in 1988 and Artistic Director of the Kobe Chamber Ensemble in 1981. He is currently holding official posts in several organizations including that of President of the String Teachers Association in Japan.
He has received numerous awards, amongst them the Prize for the Arts of the Education Ministry and the Culture Prize of Kobe City. In recognition of his great contribution to music in Japan, he was conferred the title "Person of Merit for Culture of Kyoto City" in 1992. Since 1995 he is president of the Kyoto Concert Hall. In 1998 he was awarded the order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.
1947年旧ソ連のウクライナに生まれる。ブリュッセルのクィーン・エリザベート国際コンクールやポズナニのヴィェニャスキ・コンクール等著名なヴァイオリンコンクールの優勝者である。
初めにオデッサのストリアルスキー音楽学校で指導を受け、モスクワのグレスィン音楽学校で、ボリス・ゴールトスタイン教授のもとで研鑚を積む。その後、チャイコフスキー音学院でイゴール・オイストラフ教授に師事し、在学中にその優れた演奏能力が認められ、教授補佐となる。
また、多数のCDやLPのレコーディングに際し、その才能が世界的なレベルであることを示している。更には、グリンカ(ノボリビスク)、リュベック、ロッテルダムの各音学院やロンドン、マドリッドの音楽アカデミーで、教育者としての才能を発揮している。彼のマスタークラスヘは世界各国からの多数の申込みがあり、そのことを物語っている。著名な国際音楽コンクールの入賞者の中に彼の指導した生徒がいつも入っている。その中には、日本の樫本大進等が含まれている。
近年では指導者としての能力が買われ、世界各国の国際コンクールの審査委員に招かれる。また、日本、ポーランド、ブルガリア、ロシアでの教授を勤める一方、1998年以降はケルン音楽大学教授に就任している。
Born in Uralsk in 1947, Prof. Zakhar BRON is a winner in numerous renowned violin competitions including the International Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and the Wieniawski Competition in Poznan.
After a first thorough training at the Stoliarski School of Music in Odessa, he deepened his musical studies at the Gnessin Conservatory in Moscow under Boris Goldstein. Prof. Zakhar BRON finished his studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Igor Oistrakh, where - because of his exceptional performances - he was offered to become an assistant to his teacher while still being a student.
Prof. Zakhar BRON has achieved the highest standard worldwide not only as a soloist and with his numerous CD and LP recordings. He has furthermore proved his extraordinary pedagogical talents at the Glinka Conservatory In Novosibirsk, at the Musikhochschule in Lubeck, at the Rotterdam Conservatory, at the Royal Academy in London and at the Royal Academy In Madrid. There Is a considerable demand for his master-classes and lectures throughout the world. His students are regularly found among the winners of the most renowned international music competitions. Several of them belong to the world elite, such as Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerow and Daishin Kashimoto.
Due to his great success as an instructor, Prof. Zakhar BRON is being invited to nearly all international competitions. He is honorary professor in Japan, Poland, Bulgaria and Russia and, since 1998, holds a post as professor at the Musikhochschule in Cologne.
