The Ship Reporting System in the Waters Off Chengshan Jiao promontory
1 Ships required to participate in the system
The following ships navigating and operating in the waters Off Chengshan Jiao promontory shall participate in the Ship Reporting System:
.1 Vessels of 300 GT and above;
.2 Fishing vessels with a length of 24m and above; and
.3 Passenger ships defined in chapter of 1974 SOLAS, as amended.
2 Geographial coverage of the system and the numbers and editions of the reference charts used for the delineation of the system
The waters covered by the Ship Reporting System is the water area with the VTS centre (geographical position is 37°23'39" N, 122°42'07" E) as the centre and 24 nautical miles as the radius (refer to Appendix C).
The relevant charts are Chinese chart Nos.12000, 12100, 12110.
3 Formal, reporting line, contents of report, receiving authority
.1 Format
This ship reporting system uses the standard format stipulated in IMO resolution A.851 (20).
.2 Reporting line
The reporting line is the circle with the Chengshan Jiao VTS centre as the centre and 24 miles as the radius.
.3 Contents and time
.3.1 Vessels entering the area covered by the ship reporting system, when crossing the reporting line, shall report to the Chengshan Jiao VTS centre the following:
A - Name of ship, call sign, ID code (if applicable);
C or D - Position;
E - Course;
F - Speed;
G - Port of departure;
I - Port of destination'
Q - Towing length and name of object in tow (if applicable); and
U - Over all length and gross tonnage.
.3.2 Vessels shall report to the VTS centre her name, position and berthing time after berthing and her name, position, departure time and the port of destination before departure while she is in the waters covered by the Ship Reporting System.
