Japan National Tourist Organization

The Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) conducts mainly overseas campaigns to promote international understanding and friendship through Japanese tourism offices located in 14 cities around the world. While maintaining close links with Japanese tourism representatives overseas, local governments, and relevant industries, the organization conducts outreach programs that target general travelers, travel agencies, and the media, promoting Japan as a tourist destination. It also organizes advertising campaigns in various media, creating / distributing printed materials, producing / screening tourism films, and providing tourism information overseas via the Internet.

Promoting bilateral tourism conferences

Bilateral tourism conferences are held regularly with countries strongly associated with tourism in Japan. Regular talks are held with South Korea, Peoples Republic of China, the United States, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Germany. Bilateral conferences are, in principle, held on an annual basis in Japan one year and the other country the next. Mutual understanding is important in international tourism, which involves international exchange conducted over a broad spectrum of social segments. Therefore, the significance of these bilateral conferences promoting international cooperation will increase.
