19]Complex Trauma (see Application Volume (2) 75P *9OP)
Complex trauma is a set of traumas suffered at two or more sites of the head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and lower extremities. When the patient fell from a high place or has been crushed under a heavy weight, provide treatment with complex trauma in mind. Besides visible traumas, examine the entire body, particularly the presence or absence of bleeding, fractures, or cerebral or visceral disturbances to find any other injuries.
〈For treating complex trauma〉
1]Because of contusion or fracture at one site accompanies massive bleeding from a cut wound at another site, for instance, a rescuer is prone to be confused as to which injury to treat initially.
2]Even though no severe injury is seen on the surface, internal tissue may have a crush injury, or the course of the general condition after first aid may be unfavorable. In the case of complex trauma, since the appropriateness of first aid may influence the patient's viability, be careful not to make a wrong choice about the order of preference in treatment.
Treatment should be given in the following steps:(the priority order of treatment)
