Clause 3.5
The following paragraph or sub-clause should be added.
"The following items shall be indicated in the legend as the content of each safe locker.
- Distress flares
- Immersion suits, anti-exposure suits or thermal protective
- Line-throwing appliances
Reason: These provisions are necessary as provided for fire protection appliances plans in clause 3.2.
Clause 4.1
This clause should be deleted.
Reason: The provision is out of the scope of this Standard and, if necessary, should be stipulated in SOLAS.
Clause 5.1
This clause should be deleted.
Reason: Requirements related to the provision of plans on board are given in SOLAS Reg.II-2/20. ISO requirements should not overlap SOLAS requirements.
Clause 5.5
This clause should be deleted.
Reason: Same as that for Clause 5.1.
Clause 5.6
The contents of this clause should be moved to be clause 3.6.(Existing clause 3.6 is to be renumbered.)
Annex A
General
Graphical symbols for the following should be developed and added.
- remote control for fire pump valves
- remote control for fire dampers
- applicators for fixed deck foam systems
- hand hose lines for dry chemical powder fire-extinguishing system
- embarkation station
Reason: They are required in SOLAS Chapter II-2 and III, IBC and IGC.
Item 1.18 and 1.25
These should be deleted.
Reason: The provisions of them are not required in SOLAS Chapter II-2.
Item 1.35
The meaning of "installation" is not clear. If it means extinguishing medium containers, "installation" should be replaced by "medium containers".
Item 1.36
The difference between items 1.35 and 1.38 should be made clear. The word "battery" should be replaced by "medium containers".
Item 1.37
The word "bottle" should be replaced by "medium containers".
"below" in the Notes should be replaced with "on top of".
Item 1.38
How foam supply trunk installation can be marked with the symbol? To be explained.
