c. SAFETY PLAN (re.item 2.9)

In order to help ship's officers to have a clear view of the means of escape of the ship and of the evacuation and abandon ship arrangements, we think that following information should be contained and shown on one plan only (i.e. the Safety Plan):

・escape routes,

・muster stations locations,

・location of all lifesaving appliances,

・number of passenger for each muster station and

・subdivision of passenger cabins for each muster station.

B. FIRE PLAN & SAFETY PLAN

2.9 See what explained on item A.c

2.10 For what indicated on a.m. item A.1.c fire detection and alarm systems should not be indicated on the plan (and should not be indicated on any plan).

3.1.2

a. "Large plans may be subdivided for clarity": the subdivision of large plans should follow the Main Vertical Zone subdivision of the ship (when applicable).

b. "Fire protection appliances and structural fire protection shall be placed in separated plans". In geneal, on our opinion, a.m. items should be contained in one plan only. In consideration of the number of items shown on the plan and/or because of the complexity of the drawing, the competent Authority could permit that fire protection appliances and the structural fire protection of the ship are placed in separate plans.

3.1.3 All fire screen doors relevant to Ch.II-2, Reg. 30.4 should be marked with relevant identification number (the same number marked on the fire door indicator panel in the central control station); also fire damper but also relevant remote controls are to be marked by relevant identification number.

3.2 & 3.3 Fire Protection Appliances and Structural Fire Protection plans

See our comment item 3.1.2.b. Futhermore item 3.3.1.c should be deleted (see our comment on item A.b).

3.4 & 3.5 Means of Escape and Life-saving Appliances plans

See our comment on item A.c.
