Revised Exception Report on progress of work in ISO/TC 8/SC 3
The following summarizes significant changes in the Programme of Work that have taken place since the last Plenary meeting of ISO/TC 8 held in October 1998.
1. The number of Participating Member Nations has decreased from 13 to 12 with Brazil's decision to change its membership status from P-Member to O-member.
2. The number of Observer Member Nations has increased from 5 to 8 with the additions of Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.
3. Changes in the status of the 22 work items under consideration in the ISO/TC 8/SC 3 Programme of work are shown in the attachment to this report. The following summary of changes is provided for information.
a. ISO/FDIS 14726-1 has completed balloting with unanimous approval and is expected to be published very shortly.
b. Two DISs have advanced to the FDIS stage (ISO/FDIS 15540 and 15541) and have been distributed for balloting.
c. Four CDs have moved to the DIS stage (ISO/DIS 3715-1, 3715-2, 7547, and 15364) increasing the total number in the DIS stage from five to seven.
d. One AWI and five WDs have moved to the CD stage (ISO/CD 13617 and 15749-1 through 15749-5) increasing the total number in the CD stage from five to seven.
e. As a result of WDs advancing to the CD stage, the number of WDs has been reduced from nine to five
f. As a result of AWIs advancing to the WD stage, the number of AWls has been reduced from three to zero.
g. The number of possible new work items has remained at seven as a result of one cancellation and one addition.
The next meeting of ISO/TC 8/SC 3 will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark starting at 10:00 A.M. 1999-09-08 and ending at 12:00 noon on 1999-09-10.
