このたび「オール・ストラディヴァリウス・コンサート」が、財団法人日本音楽財団の設立25周年記念事業として開催されることとなりましたことを、心からお喜び申し上げます。
日本音楽財団が、音楽文化における国際貢献を果たす目的で「弦楽器の貸与事業」を開始されてから早くも5年が経過いたしました。その間、世界的文化遺産である弦楽器名器はストラディヴァリウスの9挺を含め11挺が収集されました。
さらに、それら名器の維持・保全ばかりでなく、世界を代表する音楽家や若手有望演奏家に無償で貸与する事業が国際的規模で実施されておりますことは、演奏家の演奏技術の向上や世界のクラシック音楽の発展にとって非常に意義深いものがあると考えます。また、この様な音楽分野における日本の国際貢献は、日本に対する国際的な期待ともなっております。
このたびのコンサートは、このような歴史的文化の所産と演奏家の卓越した演奏技術とが相まって醸し出す素晴らしい音色と音楽を聴く絶好の機会ということができます。ご来場の皆様には、その醍醐味を十分に味わっていただきたいと存じます。
日本音楽財団に対しましては、今後ともこのような芸術文化に親しむ機会をより多くご提供いただくとともに、香り高い音楽文化の振興のため、ますます素晴らしい事業の成果を国の内外において挙げられますことを切望して止まない次第であります。

On this auspicious occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the founding of Nippon Music Foundation, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations.
It has already been five yours since Nippon Music Foundation has been committing itself to making international contributions through its music activities. During this period, Nippon Music Foundation has managed to acquire eleven string instruments including nine made by Antonio Stradivari, all considered to be the historical and cultural assets of the world.
Nippon Music Foundation not only serves to preserve and to maintain these masterpieces, but also loan them free of charge to young promising musicians as well as accomplished artists, regardless of their nationalities. These activities contribute towards the technical advancements of musicians and to further develop the global classic music community.
This evening, we are Very fortunate to enjoy the superb sounds of the Stradivarius instruments played by the talented musicians.
I sincerely hope for Nippon Music Foundation to continue to provide us with the international cultural opportunities to enjoy the experiences of listening to music of the highest quality.
