FREMANTLE BRIDGE 1,060-TEU Container Ship
The 1,060-TEU container ship, FREMANTLE BRIDGE, constructed at Setoda Works of Naikai Zosen Corporation to the order of Kingfisher Shipping Co. S.A., was delivered to its owner on June 30, 1998.
Notable features and principal particulars of the vessel are as follows:
Features
1. The vessel, intended as a full container ship to carry 1,064 containers (including 150 reefer containers) on the Japan/Australia/Southeast Asia route, embodies hull and engine room designs to fully satisfy the ship's functions.
2. The vessel's four container holds (with a full cell guide arrangement within) have eight hatches, of which all but No. 1, i.e. Nos. 2 through 8 hatches, are in a two-abreast arrangement. Containers are stowed in five tiers in holds and in four tiers on hatch covers.
3. Containers with hazardous contents except explosives can be stowed in the No. 3 container hold, on the exposed deck and on hatch covers.
4. The container ship is equipped with a bow thruster to facilitate berthing and unberthing.
