The 77,302-dwt bulk carrier CORONA EMBLEM was built at Sakaide Works of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and delivered to Kino Transport S.A. It was chartered by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K-Line) in March 1998.

 

Features

1. General:

With five cargo holds, the ship mainly carries coal in bulk;

1) Fuel-efficient main diesel engine is a Kawasaki-MAN B&W 6S60MC, with two-stroke cycle, crosshead, reversible, with exhaust gas turbo-charger;

2) High efficiency propeller and reaction rudder;

3) Refined lines and a large bulbous bow;

4) Mono-fuel system for common use between main engine and generator engine

2. Simple and rational structures and arrangement:

1) A large hatch cover (23.3 mL x 16.0 mB) is installed on each of the five cargo holds to improve cargo loading and unloading efficiency.

2) Ballast tanks on the double bottom and on the top side are connected by trunks to facilitate ballasting operations.

3. Riding comfort:

A Kawasaki damp tank absorbs hydraulic fluctuations caused by propeller exciting force thereby reducing hull vibration.
