The 30,500-dwt Laker type bulk carrier SPRING LAKER, constructed at Setoda Works of Naikai Zosen Corporation to the order of Primavera Montana S.A., was delivered to its owner on November 18, 1996.

1. The vessel is a single-decked, diesel-powered, single-screw bulk cargo carrier with a forecastle.
2. The bulk carrier has the greatest dimensions within the limitations of the St. Lawrence Sea-way of Canada, which leads to the Great Lakes.
3. Cargo space is divided into five holds for stowage of various dry bulk items including grain, steel, and lumber. In addition, lumber can be loaded on deck and on hatch covers.
4. The vessel is equipped with four 25-ton deck cranes to enhance cargo handling efficiency.
5. The hatch covers are steel-built, weathertight folding box type units.
