ALAM BERKAT designed and built by Onomichi Dockyard as a product tanker with a double-hull, double-bottom structure that satisfies the latest MARPOL.
The vessel is able to carry crude oil and petroleum products in 14 cargo oil tanks segregated into four groups plus port and starboard slop tanks providing a total capacity of 53,600m3.
In addition, the vessel is designed to carry MTBE, Sodium hydroxide solution and several specified chemicals.
Loading/unloading of cargo oil is handled by 4 sets of conventional cargo pumps with each capacity of 1,000m3/h x 120m T.H.
The vessel is powered by MAN-B& W 6S50MC (Mark-VI) with high energy efficiency, and has a service speed of 15.3 knots. It would translate into fuel consumption of 32.9 tons/day and endurance of 15,100 nautical miles.
