AL KHOR 135,000m3 LNG Carrier
AL KHOR, jointly owned by Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and Iino Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd., was completed on Jan. 4, 1997 at the Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI).
AL KHOR is a Moss spherical tank type LNG carrier and the second ship of the ten sister ships, engaged in LNG transportation between Qatar and Japan.
The ship has an efficient propulsion plant and a forcing boil-off gas generating system for economical operation with a boiler specially designed for boil-off gas exclusive burning. The boiler is also possible to burn fuel oil mixed with boil-off gas.
