2. One of the features of Hitachi Zosen's double hull VLCC is that it is equipped with wing water ballast tanks. This design provides good balance in hull strength and lowers steel rein-forcement requirements. This vessel has acquired Safe Hull notation issued by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
3. In accordance with 1996 Amendment to the SOLAS 1974, this vessel is equipped with walkway on the upper deck to bow and additional tank vent system. Together with the safety provisions required by the latest rules, direct access trunks from the upper deck to the double bottom are arranged for easier access to and better ventilation of the double bottom space. Stringers, ladders and steps are arranged for easier inspection and maintenance work of double hull space.
4. A combined deck foam/high expansion foam fire extinguishing system is provided for fighting against fires in cargo oil tank deck area & cargo oil tanks/engine room & pump room.
5. The main cargo pump is equipped with self-stripping system to make cargo unloading operation easier.
6. Powered by a Hitachi Zosen-MAN B&W 7S80MC low speed and long stroke main diesel engine and equipped with a Super Stream Duct (SSD) astern and a reaction rudder, the vessel has excellent propulsion efficiency and energy-saving capability. Moreover the hull is coated with tin-free self-polishing anti-fouling paint to ensure long-term hull fouling prevention.
