SEAMAX Foil-Assisted Catamaran Superjet-40
Hitachi Zosen Corporation delivered the newly developed Superjet-40 foil-assisted catamaran type high-speed passenger ferry for Ishizaki Steam-ship Co. in February, 1998.
The Superjet-40 named SEAMAX is a larger and faster version of its predecessor Superjet-30, and achieved the world's fastest official speed of 45.06 knots as a foil-assisted catamaran type passenger ferry.
The company has constructed nine vessels of the Superjet series: eight Superjet-30s and one Superjet-40, and has developed the Superjet-20.
These Superjet series are hybrid type catamarans combining hull buoyancy and hydrofoil lift, and can offer high-speed performance and superior riding comfort.
