NC blade milling machine, manufacturing data for blade edge gauges at leading and trailing edges which are important for propeller performance, product inspecting data etc. These data are also processed on line with the designing program. For assisting the preparation of such data, 3-dimensional CAD system was introduced. Photograph 2 shows the propeller data preparation using the 3-dimensional CAD system ("I-DEAS").

Our customers' requirements for propeller performance has increasingly been upgraded. At our company to meet these requirements. the PD propeller designinig computer program (Pressure Distribution Oriented Propeller Design System) was newly introduced, developed under collaboration with Ship Research Centre of Japan (SRC). With the existing propeller designing method which is based on hydrodynamics theories. propeller performance is obtained by
