On the other hand, under the above mentioned diversifications, onboard work including maintenance done by the ship's crew has certainly increased and become more complicated. It has been proven that the rate of accidents caused by human factor has also increased. In connection with the above, I believe that the interface between man-machine is a very important factor to maintain a ship's reliability.
Therefore, I would like to explain in further detail the engine room reliability and standardization efforts as the most important and, I believe, the easiest method to attain reliability.
2: Introduction
In this introduction, I would like to first state the relationship between the marine equipment manufacturer, shipyard and shipowner to clarify the task that each party plays for building a reliable ship and real standardizations.
A certain famous shipyard jointly with NYK, investigated and analyzed the initial causes
