The 6 cylinder DK-20(bore 200 mm) engines were first developed in 1993, follwed by 8, 5, and 3 cylinders. These engines have been installed for generator applications on board vessels with delivery record over 800 units.
The 3DK-20 is the latest model and sales of this engine begun in March.1998, and In 1994, DK-28(bore 280 mm) come first into the market with 6 cylinders. The first sales were for a ferry boat main engine, and the 8 cylinder model followed in 1995-210 units of DK-28 have since been delivered mainly for generator engines of large container vessels.
In September,1996, the first delivery of DK-26 (bore 260 mm) was made for generator engines of RO-RO vessel,and so far 40 units have been delivered, mostly main engine for ferry boats. This fall, 5 cylinder version will be added to the series.
The largest model, DK-36(bore 360 mm) of 12 cylinder, was first delivered in November, 1997 and 6 and 8 cylinder in line version will follow shortly. We anticipate that the main market should be for both propulion and stationary engines for co-generation plant.
In total the new DK series engines completes the power band of over 455 kW to 6325 kW, meeting the needs of of a wide variety of users.
