4 MECHANISIMS
We conducted a number of test experiments to investigate the causes of the two oscillations in the main run. These tests include: i) suppressing coupling in various regions; ii) determining the influences of SVD1 and SVD3; and iii) modifying the strength of the latent-heat feedback.
