1 The Sub-Committee on Safety of Navigation (NAV)
held its forty-third session from 14 to 18 July 1997 and its
report on that session has been circulated under the symbol
NAV 43/15.
2 The Committee is invited to:
.1 adopt the proposed new and amended traffic
separation schemes in accordance with resolution
A.826(19)(paragraph 3.8 and annex 2)*;
.2 adopt the proposed amended Rules for vessels
navigating through the Straits of Malacca and Singapore
in accordance with resolution A.826(19)(paragraph 3.1.1
and annex 3);
.3 adopt the proposed amendments to the Rules for the
Navigation of Laden Tankers around the southern coast of
South Africa in accordance with resolution
A.826(19)(paragraph 3.13 and annex 3);
.4 adopt the proposed amendment to the deep-water
route "West of the Hebrides" in accordance with
resolution A.826(19) (paragraph 3.14 and annex 3);
.5 adopt the proposed amendment to the routeing
measures in the Strait of Bonifacio in accordance with
resolution A. 826(19)(paragraph 3.17 and annex 3);
.6 adopt the proposed amendments to the General
Provisions on Ships' Routeing (paragraph 3.20 and annex
4);
* References are to paragraphs and annexes of the report
of NAV 43 (NAV 43/15).
