1 Project Objectives
--To promote public awareness of the importance of freedom of navigation to the survival of Japan;
--To promote public awareness of the importance of freedom of navigation to the peace and security in Asia and other parts of the world;
--To find obstacles to freedom of navigation in the region and the world;
--To find what Japan can and should do to eliminate these obstacles:
--To find the scope and form of cooperation, whether bilateral or multilateral, to eliminate these obstacles;
--To take a leading role in efforts to lay a groundwork for future research to help achieve the above objectives
This project originally aims to make known to the domestic public the importance of freedom of navigation by disseminating useful information, whether newly processed here or already processed elsewhere, relating to freedom of navigation as widely as possible in a timely manner. At the same time, the project aims to conduct research both domestically and internationally to this end.
