「26歳のとき、大邱のハンセン病療養所に無理やり入れられてしまいました。私には7歳と3歳の男の子がいました。私は死んだことになりました。子どもたちのことを思い出して、私は毎日泣いて暮らしました。その後、療養所でいまの夫に出会い、ハンセン病回復者の新しい村づくりにかかわってきました。15年前、やっと子どもたちに再会できました。」

"I was forced into Taegu Sanatorium at the age of 26. I had two sons, 7 and 3, but they were told that I had died. The separation was so painful that I cried for days and days, thinking about my children. Then I met my present husband here and started to work for a new set-tlement for the persons affected by Hansen's Disease. It was only 15 years ago that I was able to be reunited with my sons.
