Two business cases were checked out:

● Hull CS approval data (218 based)

● Ship Hull form data (216 based)

Tools used are:

● Ege V4.0 (GIDA)

● Psstep_Caselib V4 (ProSTEP)

 

Data imported from NAPA

 

Results:

● OpenGL based Viewer for AP216

● VRML-Visualisation of AP216 Geometry

● Import of STEP files for further processing

 

Problems:

● documentation of model changes

● implementation of model subsets

● Part 21 Technical Corrigendum

● Reserved words in C++ code generation (code, events, ..)

● Incomplete and inconsistent STEP files (detected by SDAI checker)

 

Application 1 (based on AP216):

 

Import of ship hull geometry using AP216

● Geometry:

● Hullform

● Appendages

● Compartment boundaries

● Major structural elements

● Main dimensions

● Product structure

● Functional descriptions: deck, outer hull

 

Application 2 (based on AP218):

 

● Geometry of plates and profiles

● main dimensions

● product structure: compartments, systems

● class approval data

● functional descriptions: deck, outer hull

 

Application 3: AP216 for CFD - 3D body

 

Conclusions:

● Implementation of subsets should be based on full schemas

● careful documentation of schema modification
