Mapping:

 

● Mapping done for one AP may be used for other APs but needs minor changes. Measures etc are the same where as configuration management etc. will change slightly. 216 does not need plates and stiffeners whereas 218 needs them. Hence the mapping used for 216 needs modification in this aspect for use in 218.

● The BB owner is responsible for the mapping. But all the owners may not be able to do that.

● Mapping for developing AIM. Once AIM is ready the mapping tables are no more needed. But if there is change in ARM, then the mapping tables are required to get the corresponding AIM. The current Express‐X does not support effective mapping!

● Documentation on mapping (cookbook)is to be done so that it can be reused by others.

● There will be a SEASPRITE meeting for two weeks starting the second or third week of September. Mapping will be discussed there (probably of217).

 

Discussion on Interpretation by Frank/Fowler:

 

Product definition of the different variations of a design will be different instances of a product. Product information definition is applicable mainly for series production such as cars, air planes etc. with slight variation in the models. lt is less app1icable for ships except for series ships.

 

Product definition shape → for the whole product

Shape aspect → for a particular area/part of the product

 

Ship which is a product maps to <Product>. Plate provided by a manufacturer is a product and maps to <product_definition>.

 

PDM schema is good for design and construction phases but does not work well for service phase.

SAP's PDM is used in Process Plant industry. lt may be used for ships also.

Priority should be given to the interpretation of product structure and configuration management which are what the PDM schema is based upon.

 

AP217 (Burton Gischner)

 

● SOLISにはAP217の最新バージョン(June 97)が載っている。

● 最初のlnterpretation は1997年6月にSan Diegoで行われた。それ以降のinterpretationは1998年の秋まで遅れるであろう。 Julian Fowlerが手伝う予定だが公式のworkshopにはならないであろう。そのための予算は、遅れているが、まもなく利用可能になるであろう。

● MariSTEPはARM implementationを続けている。17 BBsが1997年12月のMariSTEP implementation projectの結果として改定された。

● 97年11月にMariSTBP implementationのためにSchema がフリーズされた。

● Electric Boat (CATIA)とlngalls (Computer Vision)はMariSTEPに基づいてtranslatorを開発している。

● 最初のElectric Boat からlngallsへの交換デモが、98年8月に予定されている。
